
Driven by a passion for his work, Mr. Hoffman has practiced law for over 28 years. He began his career in 1980 with Graran, Lucow, Miller, P.C., in Detroit, Michigan and became a Class A Partner. It was there that he learned to aggressively represent clients in personal injury, property damage, and insurance defense litigation cases, earning a solid reputation as a successful practitioner in the areas of general negligence, no-fault law, insurance coverage disputes, products liability, and municipal liability. He went on to become a member of Thomas, DeGrood, Witenoff & Hoffman from 1992 until 2001 serving a wide range of clients including the Detroit Tigers Baseball Club, the Detroit Lions Football Team, St. Louis Blues Professional Hockey Club, and entertainers Rod Stewart and Limp Bizkit. Additionally, he has served as a defense arbitrator for Allstate and State Farm Insurance Companies. Mr. Hoffman moved to South Florida and became the founding partner of Hoffman & Morris, a firm specializing in general civil litigation and domestic and international business law. His educational background includes a B.S. from Central Michigan University, an M.B.A. from Western Michigan University, and a J.D. from the University of Detroit in Michigan. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1980 and to the Florida Bar in 2002. In addition to being a lawyer, Mr. Hoffman is also an accomplished Florida real estate lawyer -- having received his real estate broker license in the state of Florida. Mr. Hoffman was admitted to practice in the Florida Federal Courts, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the 6th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Possessing expert problem solving and communication skills, Ms. Morris has practiced law for more than 18 years. She has successfully represented a wide range of clients concentrating in the areas of general negligence; no-fault law; insurance coverage disputes; products liability, municipal and premises liability; trial practice; and commercial litigation including intellectual property and debtor/creditor issues; and professional negligence. Sought after for her appellate work, she deftly prepares briefs and makes appearances before State Circuit and Federal Courts of Appeal. In addition to her litigation practice, she is experienced in the areas of contracts, corporate structuring, corporate finance and intellectual property matters. Formerly a law practitioner from the northeast, she is now an accomplished Florida business and litigation attorney who has successfully assisted clients in coordinating the legal aspects of business sales and purchases, acquisitions and mergers, and various agreements for shareholders. Ms. Morris has also provided guidance in the areas of licensing, technology, lending and banking agreements—ultimately protecting and asserting her clients’ legal rights through expert resolution including trials.
Prior to becoming a partner with Hoffman & Morris, Ms. Morris was an associate with Wayne, Lazares and Chappell in Boston, Massachusetts (as counsel to a major client bank) and later as in-house Corporate Counsel in the Netherlands for Farrel Europe, B.V. (heavy equipment manufacturer and developer), and as Corporate Counsel for IBM/Lotus Development (software developing, licensing and consulting). Her education includes a B.A. from Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1991 and to the Florida Bar in 2002. Additionally, Ms. Morris is admitted to practice in the Florida Federal District Courts and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
